There is an upsurge in the number of black women taking leadership roles in major publications lately. Conde Nast has recently made two major moves. First they hired Keija Minor to be Editor in Chief at Brides Magazine, and here's Elaine Welteroth popping up at Teen Vogue!

So after working as the Beauty and Style editor at the re-vamped EBONY, Ms. Welteroth worked for a year as the Senior Beauty Editor at Glamour, and now on to her role as Director of Health and Beauty for Teen Vogue! Source
