Recipe: Make Your Own Coconut Shampoo!

I came across this recipe and have decided to pass it on. I use, or have used, Dr. Bronner's Castille Soap as a clarifying shampoo, so I'm sure that using all of the ingredients together would make a good cleansing/conditioning shampoo.

Coconut Milk Shampoo

- 1/4 cup coconut milk
- 1/3 cup liquid castille soap (like Dr. Bronners)
- 1/2 tsp or 3-4 capsules of Vitamin E
- 1/2 tsp olive or almond oil (optional)
- 20 drops of Essential Oil or Oils of choice (optional)

You may wish to make your own coconut milk to avoid the possibility of using those processed with BPA. Click on this homemade coconut milk link to find a recipe that might work for you.

Add all of the ingredients together into a clean plastic bottle or container. You may have old shampoo or conditioner bottles that could do the job. Shake well.

You can keep it in the shower for about a month, but you need to shake it before every use.
