Nothing is nicer than knowing that your significant other supports you and your decisions. Rhoda's husband encouraged her Big Chop and recognized her beauty, hair or no hair, relaxed or natural.   

Why did you decide to go natural?

I went natural for a number of reasons: 1) I was looking for a way to use less heat on my hair; 2) My hair got really damaged and thin after I colored it back in 2007 (my perm days, lol).  So I was definitely looking for a healthier look; and  3) My best friend and I were going to do this journey together.

What stage of life were you in when you went natural (personally and or professionally) - student, working, in a relationship, parent?

Well personally I was in a great place. I had just gotten engaged when I decided to transition to natural hair, and that was back in early 2009. Now I'm married, and just celebrated my 1 year Napparversary on January 11, 2012.

What's the best compliment you've received on your natural hair?  

I would say hmm... Came from my husband!! He was the one who told me to go on ahead and do the Big Chop aka BC. He was like, "baby, go on and chop the rest of that creamy crack out... and rock that TWA like I know you can. You're beautiful in every way"!! Aww, I know. Lol!

Do you have a tip for new naturals?

Go natural for you, not because of your friends or because you think everyone else is doing it. Be confident & fly with it! Have patience ladies, and my #1 tip would be - love your hair my curlfriends, your hair will definitely show the love back.

Do you feel like you are part of the natural hair community?

The Puff!

Yes, 4 sure!!! I love how all my natural sista's embrace & rock their natural crowns. We are always there to give advice on products, hairstyles, etc. I love it!!

Do you feel that your natural hair has influenced other parts of your life?

 Definitely!! I just recently became a pesco vegetarian in January of this year, and I'm learning to live a healthier lifestyle.

What are your top three hair products or tools?
