With Valentine's Day coming up tomorrow, your homie, lover, friend may appreciate a a homemade gift. I love the softness of Shea butter on my hair and skin, and your significant other will too. Here's a recipe for a homemade Shea butter based shave creme.
1 tsp. of baking soda
4 tbl. of castile soap (such as Dr. Bronner's or any other soap base)
1/2 cup of aloe vera gel or honey (optional, but good for sensitive skin)

Add essential oils (3 drops each of pine and bergamot are recommended for men's shave creme, for women's creme 3 drops each of lavender and rose essential oils are recommended) if desired. Blend everything with a hand mixer or blend with a blender. Mix for 2 minutes, stop, then mix again for 2 minutes. Store the mixture in an airtight container in a cool, dry place. The mixture should last up to 3 months.
