I posted a few pics of one of my work styles the other day on Facebook. At five (5) weeks old my twists were not in the best shape, and needed to be redone. But I wanted to post a picture, and I thought that the overall look was cute, and VERY QUICK (less than five (5) minutes from beginning to end), despite the state of my twists.
Soon after I posted the pictures, I saw a series of photos of celebrities out and about. Style ambassador, Tracee Ellis Ross, was featured at several events, and she had worn similarly styled French Braids on more than one red carpet. I thought that it was nice that even with different hair textures, (even twisted versus loose or pressed hair) that with a little imagination we can create and recreate all kinds of styles and have them look good on us. (And again in my case, even on old twists that needed to be redone). There may need to be modifications made for length, and sometimes even for texture, but I believe that almost any style can be recreated on natural hair.
If you would like some style suggestions, instructions, and photos, check out my e-book, One Hairstyle, Thirty-one Ways, available on Smashwords and Amazon. Have you found yourself with a celebrity style? Are there any that you plan to try?
