That made me laugh! Anyway, my hair is kinky. That is what the Dominican lady who burnt it up 2 years ago said...Forgive me, I may be a little bitter - not just because of the damage caused by her styling techniques, but because she said kinky like I should feel bad about the way that my hair grew out of my head, and I didn't, I don't and I shouldn't, and neither should anyone else. Anywho, kinky is one of the many words that can describe my hair.

But to tell the truth, I rarely think about the texture of my hair. When I do, I tend to liken it to velcro or a cotton ball. It is highly textured, holds on to lint and debris, is pretty soft, and is easily manipulated into a headband, a puff, braids or twists. It also shrinks. I love the way it stretches with twists, but when my hair hasn't been stretched, I KNOW that at some point in the near future my hair will be about 25% of the length of my pressed hair.
Is it a problem? Nope. It just means that I wear it in protective styles 98% of the time because I haven't wanted to do all of the things necessary to have and maintain a good looking wash-n-go or twist out. That may change. We'll see what 2013 holds.
