My hair has remained in it's inspired state from Saturday through Tuesday. On Tuesday night, I decided to wash my hair, but was just too lazy to undo my twists first. I was hoping that I could wash my hair in the twists, oil and seal it, then wear it in a twist-out puff-type thing for Wednesday. Unfortunately, but not really unexpectedly, it didn't dry in time for me to leave the house with a twist-out, but I also couldn't leave the house with my hair in it's then current state. So I improvised.
Products: I washed with Eden Bodyworks All Natural Coconut Shea Cleansing Co Wash and then Alikay Naturals Caribbean Coconut Milk Conditioner. I then coated my twists with olive oil, and coated my hands with olive oil when I undid the twists.
Tools: 1 ponytail holder, 8 bobby pins, and a brush.
1. I undid my flat twists with oiled hands. Only the first flat twist was both completely dry and well-defined. I decided to set that hair aside as a bang.
2. I brushed up the edges in order to put my hair in one large ponytail holder, and had it shifted to the side (in the same direction as my flat twists). I left the bang alone.
3. I then took sections of damp hair of various sizes, rolled them down toward my scalp, and pinned them in place at the base, or the point where the roll touched my scalp. I started by rolling the outside sections of the puff, then rolling the middle sections.
Note: This would have been a good time to dampen my hair again and add some leave in conditioner and a thicker concoction to seal in the moisture, and possibly even comb through the sections - but I did not. I was going for speed, but if I leave my hair in this style or re-do it, I will likely take the time to properly moisturize my hair.
4. I ended up with seven (7) pinned sections of hair.
5. I then swooped my bang to the same side as the pinned sections, and pinned it in place.
