I liked Lauryn Hill's hair as she attended her hearing today in federal court. I know that isn't necessarily the most important part of this post, but I noticed! She rocked a Gucci Seventies Signature Web Pied de Poule Fabric Tote ($2190.00 retail) along with her navy and black ensemble and shades. Her makeup was simple but flawless, and she seems to have let the top of her TWA grow out a little on top and cut down the sides and back. The shape seems to suit her a little better than the more uniform 'fro she was rocking last summer.
The ex-Fugee was sentenced to three months in federal prison, with the sentence set to begin no later than July 8th. Ms. Hill plead guilty to three counts of tax evasion last year, but paid the $970,000 (the original bill of $540,000 plus penalties) just days ago in order to resolve her outstanding debt, and attempt to avoid the possibility of three years of jail time. Well the debt has been paid, but a sentence was still issued.
Ms. Hill purportedly signed a $1m record deal with Sony and released a single, "Neurotic Society", on her Tumblr page this week as part of the deal.
