Why did you decide to go natural?

I decided to go natural because I felt I needed a change, and noticed my hair wasn't as thick as it used to be; I had been getting relaxers since I was eleven and couldn't even remember what my natural texture was like.

What stage of life were you in when you went natural (personally and or professionally) - student, working, in a relationship, parent?

I am a mother of three and I had been at my current job for 4 years at the time.

What's the best compliment you've received on your natural hair?  

One of the best comments I've heard about my hair is that it looks beautiful, healthy and thick..and I love your hair! Sometimes even on days when I don't think it looks too great...lol!

Do you have a tip for new naturals?

One tip I would give a new natural is to try and have patience with your hair, and know that it will be a learning experience to [figure out] what your hair likes and doesn't like, it's truly trial and error, but it's been almost 4 years for me now, and I love my hair! No regrets!



Do you feel like you are part of the natural hair community?

Yes, I really feel like I'm apart of natural hair community,and I welcome questions from the newly natural and transitioners, or those thinking about going natural.

Do you feel like your natural hair has influenced other parts of your life?

Yes, I believe my natural hair has influenced other parts of my life, my way of thinking about some things, the way I dress has changed, I have developed my own style - my own  form of expression. Natural hair is so versatile! I'm embracing it, I'm embracing me!

What are your top three hair products or tools?

My top three hair product are:  Kinky-Curly Knot Today; Miss Jessie's Stretch Silkening Creme; and I love my 100% coconut oil!
