Since natural hair tends to be dry, it is important to keep your hair moisturized. In the warmer months, after washing, co-washing or just dampening my hair, I use a leave-in conditioner then jojoba and/or coconut oil, and afterwords I generally styled my hair using a shea butter based product to seal in the moisture.
Now that it has gotten colder, I've noticed that my hair is getting drier more quickly and more often. I decided to change my routine by making sure that I dampen my hair every day, instead of every other day or so, usually with my refreshing spray then a leave-in conditioner, then I use a heavier oil like olive or castor oil to coat my strands. And I am being more consistent about sealing my hair with my shea butter based products.
I have also decided that I do more deep conditioners, and would try the baggy method....and I will post shortly to let you know how it turns out. How do you seal and moisturize? Has your routine changed for the winter?
