Diva Spotlight: Danasia

Tell us a little about yourself & your daughter:

I'm Becca. I have 3 kids, 2 boys and my 1 little Diva, Danasia. Danasia is 2 1/2 yrs old. She is 1/2 black, 1/4 filipino, and 1/4 white. She has a mix of 2B (at her crown) and 3B hair.

What is your daughter's hair care routine?

We wash her hair once a week. We try to do a style every other week. Styles stay in for 5-7 days. If no style, her hair is sprayed with a conditioner/water mix and combed out with a wide-tooth comb daily. On styled hair, a hair scarf is used nightly. Unstyled hair gets large-sectioned braids at night.

What kind of products do you use on her hair?

Currently we use Tresemme Flawless Curls Moisterizing Shampoo, Curly Q's Coconut Dream Conditioner, Curly Q's Milkshake and Tresemme Curl Hydration lotion. We use alcohol-free gel when styling. We are willing to try new things, so I'm always on the look out for different products.

Have you ever used chemicals on her hair?

HECK NO! :) and don't plan on it!

Very cute! How did you learn to do all of this?

I've seen some AMAZING styles on the BBC Board and learned a lot about products from those wonderful women. And recently checking out blogs/youtube for other ideas. I just use trial & error to see what works for Danasia's hair.

How does your daughter feel about her hair? Can we see her favorite style?

Danasia LOVES her hair. She always wants me to make it "pwetty" for her. She helps pick out beads and accessories at the store. She helps fill her spray bottle with conditioner and water. She's finally stopped screaming when it's time to rinse her hair in the bath so we now have fun together when dealing with her hair. Her favorite style (because she loved all the beads) is the box braids:



If you had to share one hair care tip, what would it be?

Do not over wash!!
